Temporary Road Closure - Freemans Lane Kingaroy

Back

Council advises that a temporary road closure of Freemans Lane Kingaroy, at the Kent Street end, is planned to facilitate road construction works commencing during the week of Monday 13 May 2024.

The project will replace a 40 metre long section of existing problematic bitumen sealed pavement in Freemans Lane adjoining Kent Street.

In order to provide a safe work environment, the section of Freemans Lane being reconstructed will be closed to traffic during the construction.

Access to the Kingaroy Fire station, from Freemans Lane, will not be available during the construction period.  Access to other properties fronting Freemans Lane between Kent Street and Mary Street will only be available via the Mary Street end during the construction period.

Construction activity will create noise from machinery and equipment, some restrictions to vehicle parking and pedestrian access for public safety, however these impacts will be limited and allow continual business access.

Site works and construction activity will be performed Monday to Friday – 6:30am – 5:00pm with occasional weekend work. The project is expected to be completed by June 2024.

This project has been funded under the South Burnett Regional Council Capital Works Program for 2023-2024.
